Threading Distant Voices
Threading Distant Voices is Rhythomasic's latest improvisational work.
The piece is a trio, accompanied by a live singer, that focuses on the interlinking of culture and the memories of the performers. Each performer had a different cultural heritage that was showcased in the way they improvise. Similarly, they all had different memories which was made evident by their interactions with the leaves on stage. Each leaf represented a different memory which could be felt, lived or shared with one another. The piece concludes by presenting lines of string to audience members to thread the dancer's voices to the audience's.
This work has been performed twice, it's original showing was at Yorkshire Dance and its second performance was at the Seven Arts.
