Memories of the Future

Memories of the Future was a Bradford based community project run by Dance United Yorkshire in collaboration with Akram Kahn Company. It featured a cast of almost seventy dancers ranging from primary school children to a company of elders. Together these non-dancers came together to perform at the Bradford Alhambra Theatre as part of Bradford city of culture 2025.
I performed as a pro-dancer in their 'gradient company' working to hold together the piece choreographically and push the boundaries of what was able to be performed on that stage. It was an inspirational project to be apart of and has taught me many lessons in community practice.
This work was recently re-commissioned to be showcased at the opening night of the Bradford Arts Centre where I got to experience performing as the protagonist of the piece in place of Faye Mcloughlin.
